Chanel Haute Couture S/S 2014

Hi everyone,

From today on I will try to post important “News” in the world of fashion and in the same post I will introduce a “New” Fashion Designer… until I will be able to post my Daily Lookbook!

::: Chanel Haute Couture S/S 2014 :::

First…  Haute couture is fashion that is constructed by hand from start to finish, made from high quality, expensive, often unusual fabric and sewn with extreme attention to detail and finished by the most experienced and capable seamstresses.

Couture translates literally from French as “dressmaking” and Haute translates literally to “high”.

Normally each couture piece is not made to sell. Rather, they were designed and constructed for the runway, much like an art exhibition.

The term originally referred to Englishman “Charles Frederick Worth”’s work, produced in Paris in the mid-nineteenth century.

In modern France, haute couture is a “protected name” that can be used only by firms that meet certain well-defined standards. However, the term is also used loosely to describe all high-fashion custom-fitted clothing, whether it is produced in Paris or in other fashion capitals such as London, Milan, New York or Tokyo.

and …

Chanel Haute Couture Spring – Summer 2014 took place on Tuesday 21st of January in Paris!

Karl Lagerfeld decided to use Fancy Glittery Sport shoes as well as  for all his outfits, which is “A Little” Strange for a Haute Couture Collection.

On the Other hand, unlike what normally counts as Haute Couture, the outfits are mostly wearable and not that remarkable or Extravaganza!!!

Another thing is the colors used in the designs… all soft Pastel color…

And the material used in most outfits looks very artificial and like the clothes we used to see on actors in old movies about space & spaceships…
